Softball: Wildcats finish off Beavers in sweep

For the third day in a row, the Arizona softball team made a mistake-prone Oregon State team pay in a 9-1 Wildcat run-rule-shortened win Sunday at Hillenbrand Stadium.

Lini Koria hit a grand slam in the third inning for Arizona (38-7, 8-4 Pacific 10 Conference), helping the Wildcats find themselves leading 7-0 after three innings. That came after Arizona put in two scores during the first, neither of which were earned runs.

The Wildcats added two more scores thanks to a Stacie Chambers home run in the fourth inning, giving Arizona enough of a lead for a five-inning contest.

The Beavers fell to 21-24 on the season after being swept by Arizona, who is now on a six-game winning streak.

Freshman pitcher Kenzie Fowler went four innings for the Wildcats and was relieved by senior Sarah Akamine during the fifth inning. Fowler gave up one home run, giving the Beavers their only score of the game.
