Normally, the holidays are a time of tradition. It’s a time for family, friends and habits which we replicate year after year. But in 2020, the holidays have highlighted just how different life during the COVID-19 pandemic is.
In spite of all the hardship this year has brought, students all across the UA found a way to enjoy Thanksgiving meals last Thursday.

Shannon Kumar is a UA senior studying public health. This year she had Thanksgiving with her mom and dad at her family’s home in Hayward, Calif. where Kumar has been living this semester.
Kumar usually has a potluck-style Thanksgiving with her extended family but said that this year was much more intimate.
“It was the first time we actually fully cooked Thanksgiving. We normally never do, but since I was home and we had time, we decided to,” Kumar said.
