The Arizona women’s basketball team’s forward, Cate Reese, has been named to the Naismith Trophy midseason team. This puts her on a list of 30 players that are in contention for the Naismith Women’s Player of the Year award.
The Pac-12 is represented by three other players: Charisma Osborne, Cameron Brink and Haley Jones. Osborne represents UCLA while Brink and Jones represent Stanford.
Reese is coming off a 19 point performance against Oregon State, where she moved into eighth place on Arizona’s all-time scoring list with 1,455 points. She is also fourth on the all-time rebounds list with 743.
The senior from Texas has been having one of the best seasons of her career during her time at the University of Arizona. She has been averaging 15 points and 6.3 rebounds per game this season.

She has also been a huge part of the team’s success in the Pac-12. She is averaging 16.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game and has scored double digits in every game.
The winner of the Naismith Women’s Player of the Year award will be announced on April 2.
