Arizona men’s golf team finished ninth place at the Redhawk Invitational in University Place, Wash. The tournament was held on Monday and Tuesday at the Chambers Bay golf course and was hosted by Seattle University.
No. 15 UCLA earned the team win by finishing nine under par. Second place went to No. 17 Washington with a score of four under par, and third to No. 29 ASU that finished three over par.
San Diego’s Grant Forrest won the individual title after shooting 11 under par. ASU’s Jon Rahm took second finishing eight under par. The top three were rounded out by UCLA’s Preston Valder who was five under par.
The Wildcats’ top performer was senior Erik Oja. He finished in a three way tie for 12th place by finishing three over par. Junior Alex McMahon was in a seven-way tie for 42nd place and finished 10 over par. Sophomore Kolton Lapa was 13 over par, senior Benson Liu was 14 over par and senior Parker Houston rounded up the Wildcat team by finishing 17 over par.
Up next for the Wildcats is the Pac-12 Men’s Golf Championships, which will begin on April 25 at The Gallery Golf Club in Tucson.
