UA forward Chase Budinger has decided to put his name into the draft to see where he stands in the eyes of NBA general managers, Budinger’s personal trainer Trent Suzuki told the Wildcat Monday. He will not hire an agent and thus leave open the possibility of returning to school.
Budinger and his father, Duncan, met with UA head coach Lute Olson Monday afternoon to inform him of the decision.
“”If the news is good he will probably keep his name in and if the feedback is not good he’ll come back,”” Suzuki said.
The news comes two days after UA guard Jerryd Bayless decided to enter the draft without leaving open the possibility of returning, a decision Suzuki said had no bearing on Budinger.
Suzuki expects Budinger to be selected somewhere between eighth and the low 20s if he decides to leave his name in the draft.
