Africana Studies lecture. “”Profits, Politics and Julia.”” Is discussed by Leslie Campbell-Grant. This lecture discusses how unofficial and official narratives were used to market black images, and how the needs of the television producer and advertiser converged in the figure of the black middle-class woman, who functioned as a socially approved model for black viewers.
