The Poetry Center and Center for Student Involvement and Leadership are coming together to host a special reading by two UA staff members. Thursday, Jan. 22 at 8p.m. Ander Monson and Boyer Rickel will read their works at the Gallagher Theatre located in the Student Union Memorial Center.
Monson and Rickel are two well-established writers that boast interesting voices and styles. If poetry and creative non-fiction tickle your fancy, this duo of writing genius should surely be investigated.
Rickel has been teaching creative writing at UA since 1991 and has authored non-fiction and poetry alike. Monson is a new addition to UA’s creative writing staff and has published books of fiction and non-fiction. Monson boasts a unique website that allows readers to interact on a new level with his writing. The site can be found at www.otherelectricities.com/and is a must see for anyone who enjoys Monson’s work or novel approaches to dispensing writing in general.
Each of these writers brings a new twist with their writing. This event is free and not limited to students of English or Creative Writing majors.
