UA officials are in the process of dismissing charges against two students who were cited for making chalk drawings on campus:
Friday:
A UA graduate student was arrested on campus after yesterday’s Arizona for Education Rally and cited on charges of criminal damage and disturbing an educational institution.
His crime: drawing with chalk.
Jacob Miller, a masters student in Geography, was arrested just before 1 p.m., a few hours after he and about 10 other students drew pictures and messages in over 80 locations around campus.
Monday:
UAPD detained Evan Lisull, author of the blog Desertlamp.com and former Daily Wildcat columnist, for criminal damage at 6:45 a.m. Monday morning, according to police records.
Lisull said he was writing with chalk in support of Jacob Miller, the graduate student arrested for chalking during Thursday’s protest outside the Administration Building.
