Freshman point guard Nic Wise, who did not play Thursday because he was academically ineligible, has turned his fortune around.
Wise worked things out with his teacher and is waiting for his grade in a class to be officially changed, two sources close to the basketball team told the Wildcat Friday night.
The Houston native should be eligible to play on Sunday against Oregon if the grade change occurs prior to the game.
Wise is averaging 2.8 points per game in 9.3 minutes and has played in 12 of the team’s 15 games.
UA head coach Lute Olson said Thursday that Wise sat out for “”personal reasons.””
Wise was not available for comment.
Olson used nine players Thursday, including Fendi Onobun who scored seven points in six minutes and saw his first action in three games.
