Arizona men’s basketball coach Sean Miller announced Monday evening that freshman center Sidiki Johnson was suspended indefinitely for violation of team policy, according to a press release from Arizona Athletics.
Johnson, a 6-foot-8, 235-pound forward from the Bronx, has played seven total minutes and appeared in three games for the Wildcats this season. He averages 0.3 points per game and has one block and two rebounds on the season.
Johnson is one of four freshmen that joined Arizona this season.
He was previously dismissed from his Oak Hill Academy, his school team, by coach Steve Smith for an unspecified violation of team rules. Johnson had previously played with St. Raymond’s (Bronx), and then at St. Benedict’s (Newark, N.J.) before arriving at Oak Hill.
The length of his suspension has not yet been determined.
