The Wildcat women’s golf team finished in fifth place at the Silverado Showdown in Napa, Calif.
The two day tournament was hosted by the University of Colorado and the University of Oregon. It was held at the Silverado Resort and Spa North Course.
The University of Washington walked away with the team win, finishing three under par and with a total score of 861. No. 1 USC took second place, finishing ten over par with a score of 874. The University of Northwestern rounded out the top three finishing 12 over par with a total team score of 876.
The Wildcat’s were tied for fifth place with the University of Oregon. Both teams finished 22 over par with a total team score of 886. The individual champion of the Silverado Showdown was SooBin Kim from the University of Washington who finished nine under par.
The Wildcat’s top individual performer was sophomore Lindsey Weaver, who took second place in the individual competition. Weaver held a two stroke lead at the end of the first day of competition, but fell to second after shooting a 72 in the last round of competition.
Junior Kendall Prince took 15th place, finishing four over par. Freshman Wanasa Zhou ended up in a two-way tie for 38th place, finishing 12 over par. Freshman Jessica Vasilic finished in a three-way tie for 43rd place, with 14 over par. Junior Andrea Vilarasau wound up in a two-way tie for 71st place finishing 28 over par.
The Wildcat’s will return to action in the Pac-12 Championships, April 25-27 in Corvallis, Ore.
