This evening, Arizona football (4-6, 2-5 Pac-12) dropped its fifth consecutive game of the season on the road at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Ore. to the Ducks by a final score of 6-34.

Arizona football was in a tough situation heading into this weekend. With only three games remaining in the season, the Wildcats needed to win at least two of them to make a bowl game. The fact that the Wildcats took on the No. 6 Ducks on the road at Autzen Stadium was just added stress to an already tough spot to be in.

The Ducks dominated right out of the gate, as they scored their first touchdown within the first 32 seconds of the game and on the second play. At that point, the Wildcats knew they would be in for a wild ride at Autzen.

Oregon continued to dominate on both sides of the ball. Senior quarterback Justin Herbert finished the game with a total of 333 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.

True freshman Grant Gunnell got his second career start after winning the game when he got his first earlier this season against the UCLA Bruins. This time, Gunnell couldn’t carry the team on his shoulders and lead the Wildcats to a victory over the Ducks.

Gunnell finished the game with a total of 82 yards on 10-for-14 completions with zero touchdowns. All of the Wildcats’ points came from field goals since they were unsuccessful in scoring a touchdown once in the red zone throughout the night.

With Arizona’s fifth consecutive loss of the year, the Wildcats move to 4-6 on the season and 2-5 in conference play. Catch the Wildcats back in action next Saturday, Nov. 23 at Arizona Stadium in a must-win game against the Utah Utes for the final home game of the 2019 season. The game will be broadcasted on Pac-12 Network.
