Sophomore running back Ka’Deem Carey was named the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas Pac-12 Player of the Week on Wednesday.
In Saturday’s 52-17 win over Washington, Carey racked up a career-high 172 rushing yards, along with a touchdown. His performance was the sixth-best by a Pac-12 player this season. Carey’s 12 total touchdowns this season are second-most for any Pac-12 player. The 5-foot-11, 195-pounder matched his career-high with 29 carries in the game.
Carey ranks No. 16 in the nation with 842 rushing yards, and his 1,064 yards from scrimmage are eighth-most nationally. He averages 120.3 rushing yards per game and is tied for the most 100-yard rushing games in the league this year.
